How 6 Companies Use Tablets to Drive Business

How is mobile technology ratcheting up productivity in the workplace? On Mashable, Scott Gerber, founder of the Young Entrepreneur Council, polled six entrepreneurs and asked each to name a business with a great strategic purpose for tablets. The resulting list of companies — from a makeup retailer to a road-side farm stand — offers some great ideas.

Here’s what Seth Kravitz of Technori said about Uncorkd, which makes a wine- and beer-ordering app used in restaurants:

“… It helps get rid of the intimidation of selecting a wine and actually delivers suggestions to match any item from the food menu. They have rolled out to a couple dozen restaurants nationwide, and, on average, sales are up more than 20 percent for wine and beer at these first locations.”
